We tailor the tour to suit the type of photography you are interested in, whether that is photographing one specific species, general wildlife photography or landscapes. Although this is a dedicated photography tour, you will also get to learn about the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest, the ecosystems of the river and much of the fascinating wildlife along the way.
Best cruise times
Times for private cruises are flexible, however generally early morning or late afternoon are most suitable for quality of light and activity of wildlife. If you have specific species you are targeting, let us know and we'll advise the best times to target them, for example low tide is often best for kingfishers and some of the wading birds.
The boat
Our boat is hybrid petrol/electric with dual electric motors which allow for excellent manouverability. It is stable, has a shallow draft allowing us to access parts of the Daintree River system unavailable to larger boats. We aim to put you in front of your subject at the right time of day and in the right light.
The boat has removeable seats to allow us to configure the boat to your needs, including good room for tripods or launching drones.
Your guide
Alex has been a passionate photographer for over 25 years and understands the needs of photographers. He has a good working knowledge of the river and surrounding ecosystems and will endeavour to help you get that once in a lifetime shot.
If you are a beginner photographer, he is happy to share tips, and loves seeing the river from other photographers perspectives.
